New Design & Updates

 Violet here!

So, my most sincere apologizes for not blogging in SO LONG! Do I have any readers left out there?
I finally got around to posting, I was quite busy as this semester is coming to a close, I had exams to take!

Let's start off with my blog! I finally updated everything on it, I made a new header, updated all the profiles and changed my theme and background. So far I really like how it turned out and I feel very refreshed after doing this, I had my last theme for awhile! I do enjoy changing and updating my blog every once in awhile.
I do intend to blog more frequently, but no promises! I'm really bad at remembering to update every week or so, some of my friends seem so good at it!

Next, let's move on to updates and news. I had a pretty quiet summer, since I have off of school, I went back home and visited with my parents, which I enjoyed. I also hung out with my cousin a lot, if you didn't know, my cousin is named Celine and she was mentioned in my Easter post many months ago. We look identical and get along great. Her parents (My Aunt and Uncle) are divorced, so I don't get to see her as often as I'd like as my aunt lives in France, and my uncle lives in Canada, so Celine travels back and forth rather often.
My school year began in September, and I have enjoyed this year so far. Nothing too exciting to say about it as of now, I'll tell you if anything exciting happens!

As I said, I will be updating more frequently as this year comes to a close, which sounds CRAZY because it seems like just yesterday that my best friend Lacey showed up unexpectedly with a plane ticket back to Alberta, which if you didn't know, happened in January. If you were wondering where Lacey is, well she left campus in June and went back to Canada. This school year she is living and studying in Italy! She is so lucky!

Goodbye for now! {And a photo of me taken recently, since I don't like just text posts, I HAVE to add a photo!}

Guest Post By Marion!

Bonsoir, all! My name is Marion, and I'm doing a guest post on my good friend Violet's blog!

Anyway, as I said above, my name is Marion. I have 13 going on 14 years old, and my birthday is May 16th. My full name is Marion Silvia Cheremisinova, I'm part French (born in Strasbourg, France) part German, and part Russian. My mother is from France - Strasbourg just as I was! My father was born in Germany but as a young child moved to Moscow, Russia. He then came to France as a teenager for a business opportunity that wasn't available in Russia. This is where my mother and father met, and eventually married. When they got married my father had gathered enough money to send his mother father, sister brother and grandparents to live in a small apartment in France with him. I was born 5 years later, on a crisp spring morning in 1994.  My parents both got the job at a travel magazine to be travel writers - what they both have always dreamed of.  When I was 5, we set off to Sweden for my parents to review hotels, cafes, restaurants in Stockholm. I was lucky enough to go with them. The travel magazine company was elated with the article they had written, and sent them to Pisa, Italy to do the same. Eventually after a few more travels, they had become very well known writers and the magazine had grown immensely since they had started there. At this time,  they got their own section of the magazine. I was in it a lot, they often used me as a model of certain popular tourist attractions. By my 12th birthday, my parents decided I needed a more stable life, so they found PeacefulValley School Of Art. They told me about this, and I was so excited! I would finally be able to express myself in drama as I had always wanted to do. The school sent over a test forum, and I passed. I packed my bags that night, and bid a very sad farewell to my beloved parents. I left for America the next day. When I arrived, the students seemed excited to see a new student, apparently they haven't had a person from another country come for a long while.

At first I had trouble finding friends since my English was pretty lousy, but then I discovered a group of French speakers who actually understood what I had been trying to say. That group was consisted of Violet, Asia, Regina, and Victoria. Now Lacey, who is Violet's best friend joined the group since I had arrived. They really, really helped me grasp English and I swear they taught me more then the school's English program did. This group accepted me as I am, and I'm very proud to consider them some of my very best friends.

One day, Violet mentioned that she had a blog. I got really excited about this, and she told me that I could guest post whenever I wanted to! Finally, today I decided to post!

Recently, my teachers recommended I set up a Facebook page to further expand my English skills and meet some new online friends. I have since set one up. You can "like" me (American web designers sure are *creative*) at: My page!

Now I'm sure you are wondering what I look like, non?

Yes, that is moi. Marion Silvia!
Tell me if you enjoyed this post and if you'd like me to guest post again!

Back Home

 Hi Everyone.
Since last time I left off I got plane tickets to come home to Canada, the plane ride was great and it was literally the most fun I've had in a long while waiting for what will happen once we touch down in Alberta. I called my Mama and Papa to tell them I was coming home for a while and to pick me up at the airport, so they happily agreed and met me at the airport lobby. I checked in through security with my passport and everything and it was a lot less terrible that I remembered. It HAD been a long time since I'd flown to Canada though.

When I got into the minivan, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was the same van we had since before I'd flown to America. Once we pulled into our driveway - My old one - I was told that my old room is going to be where I sleep and stay, they didn't say however that they had kept it the exact same since I had left.

When I walked in, I was shocked to see it the same. I thought they had probably turned it into a study or a sewing room by now, but I was definitely mistaken. Everything was the same, I guess I had cleaned up when I left because it was clean on the floors and nothing was on my bed, but everything had a thin layer of dust on it. I wiped it away off of my bedposts and remembered pretending to be a princess since it was a princess -like bed.
I fell back onto the comfortable bed wondering why I had ever left, and thinking seriously if I'm actually going back to PeacefulValley School of Art. I closed my eyes and relaxed and actually almost fell into a deep sleep, I guess the plane ride and jet-lag was wearing down on me. I quickly woke myself up, though. I wanted to look around my old room a bit more.
I got up and looked out the window down to the street on which we lived on - Lilac Lane. It was a quiet and pretty street with a park with a rather large fountain situated in the middle. Almost like a small town in a street.
I noticed my desk had a green striped box on it with some paper peaking out, so I decided to go over and see what it was all about. I pushed off the dust, and moved back my chair, taking a seat at the same exact spot I did my homework years ago.
I carefully opened the box, trying not to spill any valuable contents it may hold. I looked at the newspapers that were hanging out and realized quickly it was that old box that I kept my creative writing in back in the old days.
I took out my Composition Book and looked at some random math problems and a old, kinda bad story written on the pages. It skipped around a lot and had little creativity, it actually looks like I took the idea from 'Alice and Wonderland'. What can I say? I was a odd child.
I sat back and gently closed my eyes remembering some fond, and not so fond, memories from when I was sitting in this very seat. I laughed at some, and some made me cringe. Most of all, I felt happy and complete to be home and happy. I guess this is what I needed - Time away and time to spend with my family.
I got up from my seat, and I carefully put everything back in the green striped box I used to be so fond of and closed it. I was happily thinking of what I could write next, I guess I'm going to get a creative writing piece done too!
I sat on my bed, thinking happily. This is just what I needed - Friends, Family, and most of all.

                                      Home.

Yours Truly,
Violet E.

Not Just Another Saturday

This morning, I got up and went through my regular routine. But this evening I decided to break my normal Saturday afternoon routine and go to my local cafe. I went in and was seated right away at a green metal table next to the window - yes - I got my favorite seat! Hey,  I thought today might not be so bad after all.
My waitress was Joanie, a good friend of mine who lives in dorm 7, near mine. She works at the cafe as a hostess and waitress - sometimes both.  Eli was normally the hostess, but she went back to Massachusetts for Christmas.
I decided I wasn't that hungry, so I ordered a slice of cake. She happily took my order saying it was a slow day.

She came back in a few minutes with my wonderful looking cake.
"Yum!" I exclaimed when I saw it on the silver platter Joanie was carrying.
She delivered it and said "Enjoy!" with a polite smile. I happily dug into my cake - Yes, it was as good as it looks!  I was actually feeling a little less homesick, I guess keeping myself busy helped keep my mind off of Canada.  I heard the door bells jingle as someone walked inside.
"Table for one, please" the girl said.  I had a rush of shock run inside me - it can't be. I thought.
I spun around in my chair  - Curly hair, Blue eyes, Freckles, soft sweet voice with a heavy French accent... It was.
"LACEY!" I yelled, maybe a bit too loud. She looked up startled that someone knew her name. She saw me and walked straight towards me.
"tu me manques, Violet" Lacey said. "Tu me manques trop" I said.
 "How.. How.. Ho-" I sputtered.
"How did I get here? Well, I was missing you so much, I had to leave.  I just had to. My parents enrolled me part time in your school, and I knew I would be coming after Christmas. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was coming." Lacey explained
We both took a seat - Excited to catch up.
"So, how have you been doing?"
"Okay, seriously homesick.  I never thought I would miss it as much as I actually do.  I want to go home, but the plane tickets are just crazy expensive!" I told her.
"That reminds me - I got you a gift."  Lacey open her zipper in her purse and took out a small piece of paper, stiff and straight, and handed it to me. "So, best friend, want to go home?"
I slid the ticket closer to me. I was shocked.
"Mon dieu! Merci! Merci!" I exclaimed.
"Want to see my dorm?" I asked getting up.  "Of course!"
When we opened the door to dorm #5, Lacey said " Wow. It's so pretty! Your Canadian posters are of course my favorite though"
We promptly took a bunch of photos.

Who is your best friend? What does he/she look like?
